Are you the next Youth Heart Ambassador?

Application Requirements:
Submit a 1-2 minute video story and a signed media release by a parent or guardian.
Who can apply?

The American Heart Association is looking for youth who are ready to share their story about the impact of heart disease or stroke either through a personal diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or are passionate about a heart healthy lifestyle.
Applicants must be ages 2-19 years old.
Youth Heart Ambassador Opportunities

Youth Heart Ambassadors may be asked to share their story in emails and newsletters, social media posts, participate in exciting events that may include speaking opportunities and interviews, and other digital and/or print marketing materials.
What happens next?

Once the application deadline has passed and all submissions have been reviewed, selected National Youth Heart Ambassadors will be notified. All applicants will be contacted by their local AHA representative in early summer to match their interests with ambassador opportunities in their community for the coming school year.
Applications are closed.
The deadline has passed. Please contact Joanne Olson at [email protected] with any questions.

Youth Heart Ambassador
What if my child is not affected by heart disease/stroke but still wants to apply?
The American Heart Association looks forward to all applicants interested in helping advance our mission and spread awareness. We invite applications from youth who have also been affected by the diagnosis of a loved one or are passionate about a heart healthy lifestyle change.
If we applied last year, do we need to re-apply?
If you would like to be considered for a national opportunity, you should re-apply. Otherwise, you can continue to work with your AHA staff partner locally.
Do we need to participate in the Kids Heart Challenge/American Heart Challenge?
No, while we certainly hope that your school participates, it is not required. Want to check if your school is participating in the Kids Heart Challenge/American Heart Challenge? For elementary students, go to heart.org/KHC and for middle and high school students, go to heart.org/AHC.
What should we say in the video?
Just be yourself! It doesn’t need to be fancy. We want to hear your story and what you’re passionate about.
